Two weeks ago after mass (Dec. 11) at the Old Church of St. John Cathedral, the Priest announced an event and asked for volunteers to a feeding project and gift giving. So we volunteered, and offered to bring chocolates and candies for kids. As a page owner of Dagupan City People fan page,  a message was posted, uploaded the photo of candies we bought.. reaching out to all Dagupenos to share old clothes, old stuff toys or any in kind, to join Bishop Mayugba’s gift giving and feeding project at Immaculate Heart of Mary (Home for the Sick & Abandoned Destitutes).

Last Sunday, December 18, 2011 was a special day for sick and abandoned kids, also senior citizens in Immaculate Heart of Mary.

We, volunteers (Derek and Tessa Tuates) with the Single Encounters Group gathered at Old St John Cathedral Church, helped carrying and moving packages to the hired jeep as our transportation at Lucao . Bishop Renato Mayugba introduced us with the group and also joined us.

The kids, lolo’s and lola’s were so glad that we came and happy when they saw us. There were 35 kids including handicapped and sick, 45 grandparents staying at the Immaculate Heart of Mary, Lucao District. The group, us with Bishop feed and showed our care, a short time with them is a great feeling that we helped and make those people smile. We are so lucky the we have our parents and a shelter that we call our own but, those young and old people at the Immaculate Heart of Mary were less fortunate. You can also help them by sending out any things that you don’t use anymore that make them happy.

I acknowledged the presence of Judith, Rose, Tony, Ellen, Kathy and Danny who helped Auxiliary Bishop of Lingayen-Dagupan on this project, Tessa and Derek who volunteered and shared candy bags.
